Earlier in November, I went off-roading in my modified Nissan Terrano 4×4 with my brother, who also have the same car (except his is much older and is about to dissolve into a rust heap at any rate).

Against my better judgement, I took it for a swim, not realising that the water was much deeper than anticipated! Don’t try this unless without a snorkel unless you like the prospects of a hydrolised engine and/or malfunctioning electrics!

Still, after two hours of people trying to pull my car out, it was still running fine! Even the electrics (touch wood) are still going good.

Now that I’m back at work in Cambodia, my brother has the unenviable task of taken the carpet out to dry!

Though I must say, later on in the day, I did end up with a contaminated air sensor – not sure if it was dirt or water that caused the sensor to fail.

Snorkels are next on our shopping lists! Any suggestions – I’ve looked around, and some just look crap?

Both Nissan Terrano II are fitted with a 4″ body lift, 33″ mud tyres (don’t get Broncos) and a bunch of other necessary things…

You can get snorkels from europe for the Terrano but they are very costly, A few people have fitted Navara D22 snorkels to Terrano’s which look nice & have worked well but a few mods are needed tho, plus the drain hole in the airbox has to be sealed up.
Keep up the good work guy’s

Neil – just saw the Borders 4×4 website and signed in :-) Seems someone has already spotted my car in my local area.

How do one acquire the Nissan snorkels from Europe?
